There are many different things you can do once you travel to one island from the other, but a favourite amongst past visitors has been the Formentera bike tour. It is easy to take the ferry from Ibiza to Formentera and from there you can take many Formentera trips by bike. In fact, a bike tour Formentera is one of the best, and easiest, ways to see the sights of the island.
Ferry Ibiza Formentera
Your bike tour Formentera will begin over at the Port of Ibiza, which is where you will be dropped off after being picked up at your hotel. This port will probably look very familiar, especially if you have taken any of the different Ibiza boat trips during your holiday on the island.
Once the ferry for Formentera leaves the port, you will ride along the water until you reach the island of Formentera.
Bike tour Formentera
The ferry from Ibiza to Formentera will dock at the port in Formentera and that is where you will be given a classical bike for the day. Once you have made the necessary adjustments to your bike; seat adjustments and such, your guide will have you begin pedalling to your first stop. Of course, you will see many beautiful sights and attractions on the way, and while it will be tempting to stop, you will not have time if you want to arrive back at the port in time for your departure.
San Francisco Javier Capital
The first stop on your Formentera bike tour will be San Francisco Javier. This is the capital of the island, as well as the main village. You will be allowed to have some free time here, which is perfect for seeing the original church of the village. Es Pujols Beach or Levante Beach
The next stop on your Formentera bike tour will be either Es Pujols Beach or Levante Beach. Some Formentera trips by bike guides will allow you to choose which beach you visit, while others will take you to the one with the least amount of crowds for that day.
Es Pujols Beach is where the only resort is located on the island, so there is always something to do there. However, it is also the beach that is likely to be the most crowded. In between swimming sessions, you can easily walk through hippy markets, grab a bite to eat in a local cafe, and simply relax on the soft white sand until it is time to get back on your bike.
The atmosphere is much quieter over at Levante Beach and there are hardly ever any crowds there. It is much easier to find a space on the shoreline to sink your toes into and long walks along this beach without seeing another person are completely possible.
Las Salinas
Your last stop on your Formentera bike tour is going to be the salt flats in Las Salinas Natural Park. This is a highlight of many Ibiza to Formentera tours, as well as plenty of Formentera trips by bike.
On your way to the salt flats, you will see the dunes, wetlands, and beaches within this natural park, as well as the lush forest area. You will also see many different birds flying around, but you will get distracted once you arrive at the salt flats.
