An Atlantic front is expected to hit the Calima stricken Canary Islands, bringing with it cloud and rain over the next couple of days.
Whilst skies over the eastern islands remain clear, the western islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, whilst temperatures are expected to remain high today (Monday 29th January 2024) due to the recent Calima.
Expected temperatures in the West are to hit highs of 27 degrees, whilst the western islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Graciosa and Gran Canaria can expect similar temperatures reaching highs of 26.
Meteo Tenerife have issued a warning regarding air quality on the islands of La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro due to suspended dust from the Calima. Outside activities on these islands are not advised.
The Calima haze is expected to last another week.
