Angel Vázques, the councillor responsible for Tourism on the island, has announced price increases across the 7 centres of Art, Culture and Tourism in Lanzarote in 2024.
Although prices are yet to be finalised, they could increase by as much as 66% at the Timanfaya National Park where the entry fee could rise from €12 to €20
The increases are said to be a result of poor management from a former councillor and claims that the CACT attractions made a loss of €4.4 million in 2021 and a profit of just half a million euros in 2022.
The price increases could also be potentially detrimental for visitor and vehicle numbers, the latter of which has been highlighted as a significant problem at attractions such as The Timanfaya National Park recently with queues of vehicles tailing back onto the main road.
The Seven CACT centres are as follows.
1. Montañas del Fuego (The Fire Mountains / Timanfaya National Park)
2. Casa-Museo del Campesino
3. Ceuvo de Los Verdes (The Green Caves)
4. Jardin de Cactus
5. Jameos del Agua
6. Mirador del Rio
7. International Museum Of Contemporary Art – San José Castle
