Lanzarote officially recognised as having the longest promenade in the world, according to Wikipedia.
The Lanzarote promenade (also known as 'a solo dos pass' or 'just two steps'), which runs along the coastline from Costa Teguise to Puerto del Carmen is 26km in length and passes through Arrecife, Playa Honda and Matagorda. Along the way you'll find places of interest such as the Aeropuerto César Manrique, The Gran Hotel and Arrecife Port.
The record was previously held by La Coruna, at 13 kilometres long with Atlanta in the United States measuring in at 9.25.
The Lanzarote promenade was created by connecting promenades at individual resorts with a view to helping create a place for residents and visitors to enjoy activities such as walking, running and skating. It also helped to promote the clean and eco-friendly image of the island allowing people to easily walk between towns along the ocean path.
