Playa Blanca Barcelo Papagayo Update

The New Barcelo Papagayo Hotel is huge, and there has been significant progress in recent months. We've recently been sent some drone footage of the development and it makes for great viewing.

A huge thanks to Derek and Julie for sending over their recently taken drone footage of the brand new Barcelo Papagayo Hotel in Playa Blanca.

You might have seen a number of Playa Blanca Barcelo Papagayo update videos on our YouTube channel over the last few months and rumour has it that the hotel now has bookings for Easter 2023! From the road it still looks like a building site, although glass is now going into the rooms. The construction does now look like a hotel, and as often happens in the Canary Islands after a slow start things can suddenly complete very quickly.

The front of the hotel features a fancy wavy canopy which we think will be the main reception area. It will boast 720 rooms and cover more than 90,000m2. It's a big one.

The construction has completely transformed the promenade as you approach the Marina Rubicon as it replaces what has been dusty wasteland for as long as we can remember.

So sit back, relax and enjoy the video footage. It really does give a sense of the scale of the construction.
