Ryanair has announced the opening of a new base in Lanzarote for the 2023/2024 winter season.
The announcement comes with the addition of six new routes to Belfast, Bremen, Knock, Milan, Nuremberg and Zagreb, taking the total number of routes to the island to 40. On top of the new routes there is an increase in the number of flights to nine existing routes including Dublin, Berlin, Madrid and Vienna.
The airline have said this new schedule will help to grow air traffic in Lanzarote to 2.1 million passengers for 2024.
Ryanair will base three aircraft in Lanzarote, and the announcement will help to create 1,600 local jobs, 90 of which considered high paying positions.
This investment demonstrates Ryanair commitment to Lanzarote, The Canary Islands and Spanish holiday market through the ongoing collaborations with airports, hotels and tourism organisations.
